Our organic watermelons are cultivated in warm, well-drained, composted soil on our certified organic farm. Melons are among the fruits most strongly influenced by growing conditions — the sweetness, fragrance, and flavour complexity of a melon are direct reflections of the quality of the soil it grows in and the amount of sun and warmth it receives during ripening. We grow our melons without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or artificial fertilisers, in soil that is regularly enriched with farm compost, maintaining the natural mineral balance and biological activity that produces genuinely exceptional fruit. Each melon is monitored daily as it approaches ripeness — we harvest only when the stem begins to separate naturally and the fragrance at the blossom end is unmistakably sweet and intense.

Watermelon is one of the most hydrating foods available — comprising approximately 90–95% water by weight, making it one of the most effective foods for supporting hydration, particularly in Nairobi’s warm climate. It provides meaningful amounts of vitamin C, vitamin A (from beta-carotene, particularly in orange-fleshed varieties), potassium, folate, and B vitamins.
